How To Make Blended Iced Coffee Drink
By Ren Chin
Iced coffee drinks like a frappuccino from Starbucks or a Frappe drink from McDonalds are delicious and refreshing on a hot day. However buying these frozen drinks can prove to be expensive. Why not make one at home instead of spending several dollars to buy one at the store? Here's an easy way to make that blended iced coffee drink at home.
Ingredients
What you'll need (for one serving) in addition to a blender:
1 cup of chilled coffee
1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup
1/3 cup of milk
1/4 cup of sugar
1 cup of ice
optional: 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. You can substitute the chocolate syrup with caramel syrup
whipped cream
1. Make Coffee and Chill
Brew an extra strong cup or pitcher of coffee and then place it in the refrigerator for 45 minutes. You should double the amount of coffee grinds you usually use to make a cup of coffee so that you get an extra-strength brew (2 tablespoons of coffee per cup).
2. Blend
In a blender, combine the sugar, chocolate syrup, milk, ice and coffee together. Blend on high for about 1 minute until it has the desired smooth texture, with the ice finely crushed.
3. Pour and Serve
In a tall (16 oz) glass, pour the iced coffee mixture and top with whip cream. You can also drizzle some extra chocolate syrup on top of the whipped cream to add a bit of extra flavor and to make it look delicious! Add a straw and serve.

Alternately, adding a touch of cinnamon and chili powder adds a bit of a fun kick. Or whiskey. Whiskey'll do that, too.
Love iced coffe, especially this time of year. Great recipe, I'll be trying it.
This sounds delicious. I do have a tip that would make a small difference, which you would probably enjoy. Yes, it is great to get your coffee ground in the store. However, Magic Chef makes a coffee bean grinder. When you grind the beans right before use, they smell and taste so much better in whatever creation you desire.
This is great. And, yes, there are all sorts of "boosters" that you can add to your own frappe, even the kinds that would really require you to carry it around in a paper bag to be street-legal.
great hub! i'm enjoying my Blended Iced Coffee while writing this comment. Thanks for this!

If you make these drinks at home, you also can add some nutritional supplements like chia seeds, flaxseed or even protein that can add texture and healthy nutrients, and usually won't change the taste at all! Plus, it's easier to control how much sugar etc. you put in the drink if you want a healthy (or healthier) treat. Great hub!
